The most powerful man in the world says he owes everything to his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, the mother of President Barack Obama. She was an extraordinary and charismatic woman, who lived a full life, moving halfway around the world, yet remaining a true American both participating in making a better world and observing it with intelligent eyes. Stanley Ann's personal and public life mirrored (and often presaged) the important political, cultural and social changes of her time. From the Cold War fears, to the Civil Rights movement, Feminism and the United States' presence abroad, Ann Dunham's journey from a small town in Kansas to the remote villages of Indonesia, taught her what it truly means to be an American.

Holding signs that read "Our voice has been stolen", they stood up to the violence by singing together. Although the authorities pacified this spontaneous gathering, musicians soon began to appear on protest marches in shopping centers and subways, each time inspiring people with songs about the dignity, courage, fate and faith of Belarusians. This is how one of the symbols of the Belarusian resistance movement - the "Free Choir" - was born .

“The Body Dissolver” is based on interviews with professional boxers recalling the moment they were knocked out. The Film combines documentary and fictional elements into a dense parafiction, tinted with body horror genre. Unreal 3D animations generated by the artist are confronted with found footage and the images of human bodies with the representations of imaginary, hyperbolic machines. The storyline reveals the recurring fantasies about the abandonment of the body and the visions of ecstasy, exploited in various spiritual discourses and pop-culture alike.

»I’d prefer to be the film myself than just the director«: with Klaus Lemke, the boundaries between life and screen are fluid. For more than 50 years he has made films on low budgets using amateur actors without a screenplay. His cinema is brutal and impulsive, every film a slap in the face for the staid productions of the mainstream. In Bad Boy Lemke, he brings unfinished projects to an end and reflects on his body of work – of course à la Lemke: radical, confusing and powerful.

In times of crisis we get to find out who we really are. ‘The Troublemaker’ delves deep into the ideas and emotions behind the international wave of civil protest that has emerged in response to the unfolding climate crisis. The pandemic has shown how fast and how far we can move when faced with a global threat. The film asks the simple question: if the science is right on climate change, what should you do? Facing up to crisis, transforming yourself by overcoming a seemingly insurmountable threat, is THE archetypal story of human civilisation. But this time the threat is global and may prove fatal. Now that we understand more about what a ‘global crisis’ feels like, it can no longer be ignored. This is our opportunity to live life without lies, a life that offers both resilience and joy through the power of collective action. thetroublemakermovie.com

Young, brimming with hope, and striving to build a better life for their children and themselves, Asia and Marek, have relocated to the edge of one of Europe's oldest forests, along Poland’s eastern border. For their three children, the forest is not only a vast playground but also something akin to a second home. However, as the refugee crisis casts its long shadow on the whole of Europe and Poland’s borders turn into one of the central scenes of this drama, with unwelcome refugees trapped between two countries, the family’s quiet days seem numbered. Aiding “illegal immigrants” is prohibited by their country’s laws, but how does one refuse to help someone in need? Discovering a captivating, poetic equilibrium between the deeply personal and the essentially political, Forest brings to the forefront the natural landscape, as well as the characters’ emotional environment, crafting a film that resonates loudly and goes beyond pompous statements.
